I’ve recently decided that I absolutely LOVE shooting proposals. The suspense, anticipation, + quick-paced few moments that a photographer gets to capture can be an experience hard to describe. There is so much excitement that goes into the planning from days or weeks before, to the second the man drops on 1 knee + pops out the ring.
Caleb + Jordan’s park-side proposal was all those emotions, excitement, + more. This was the first proposal David + I got to do together, plus Caleb has been a dear friend of my family for more than 10 years. To see Caleb ask Jordan to spend the rest of her life with him was such a fun moment. I have fun when I see people I don’t know propose, it’s a different level of fun when it’s someone you know.
Caleb told me approximately 1.5 months prior that he was going to propose. He already had nearly everything planned that would resemble one of their first dates. They came to Little Mulberry Park, just north of Atlanta, to spend quality time together + walk along some of the scenic hiking trails. David + I had front row seats to everything, thanks to the tall grass opposite the path they were on. It ended up being the perfect spot and adding some fun frame detail to our proposal shots.
One thing I loved the absolute most about this proposal was how shocked she was. It caught her completely off-guard + the waterworks flowed. Happiness + joy in the form of tears is my favorite as a photographer. Tears capture emotion that otherwise is hard to portray. The smile on their faces that last long after the moment gave us all the happy feels. I mean, how could you not be so happy for these two!
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the fact that she had no clue about the ring or proposal, yet her nails match the stone PERFECTLY. She clearly had a subconscious hint. Plus, we are loving how beautiful + unique her ring is.
They are pretty cute, right? We love this sweet couple + enjoyed the chance to serve them in this way. They are getting married in just over a year + we couldn’t be more excited for them to start the journey of marriage. David + I highly suggest it! We also highly suggest getting a photographer to capture this moment. It’s such a sweet start to a lifelong journey, so you definitely want it well captured. (+ we’d be more than happy to do so.)
