2 Months ago, I (Katie) went out to a local park (Little Mulberry in Dacula, Georgia) for a sunset couples session with Kyle + Lauren. I grew up with Lauren and it’s been such a joy to see Kyle enter her life and bring her so much joy. Little did we know (well, we might have known) that just 2 months after this session they would be ENGAGED! David + I are both beyond excited for them and to walk through the coming seasons with them.
The photo below is actually one of my favorites from the session even though I missed the focus. Missing the focus here was the best accident and capture this picture better than a tack-sharp focus could have. As a photographer and storyteller, sometimes “mistakes” and risk-taking can more thoroughly portray the story. Photographers: take risks and chances; couples: let your photographers do the crazy things, it’ll be so worth it!
Can we please take a minute to appreciate the sun flares that made this shot even more stunning. Lauren is a literal ray of sunshine so these solar flares are all too fitting! Lighting is SO important in photography and these two trusted me to play with lighting ranging from full sun, to golden-hour, to blue-hour and it was all worth it.
The best couples to photograph are the ones madly in love that will do anything for “the shot”. Thanks, Kyle + Lauren for laying on the ground in the dark for this shot to finish up the session that was serious magic!
Capturing the love & joy these two was the most fun. We wish the future Mr. & Mrs. Swindler the absolute best.
This session goes to show that you don’t need any reason for a session with your beau, you just need a little time, some fun, and a sense of adventure.
