18 months prior, David + I exchanged vows in this place with snow on the ground. It’s a place that forever holds a special place in our hearts. As we began wedding photography, our dream was to shoot a wedding in a special place that was our wedding venue. Less than a year after we started our photography journey, David + I shot a wedding at Koury Farms.
Jessica + Jeremiah not only blessed our life with their story but also made our photography dreams come true by getting married at Koury Farms. I’m going to keep their story short & concise but it’s one for the books. For the sake of simplicity, I’m going to share pieces what she wrote in her initial inquiry.
Jessica + Jeremiah are both overseas missionaries. She writes: “I’ve been serving in India since August of 2015. He’s been serving in Bosnia since 2016. I’ll be moving to Bosnia to join him once we’re married!”
They met during undergraduate at the University of Georgia where they both majored in linguistics. They never had a class together but had mutual friends. A mutual once attempted to set them up but the date never happened.
Just a year before their wedding she was required to go to Bosnia on a visa run, where she had friends she stayed with that just so happened to be close with Jeremiah. The second to last day of her trip, Jessica and Jeremiah unexpectedly hung out and the rest is history.
Jessica + Jeremiah returned to the States in December for the holidays when Jeremiah proposed. Shortly after, they had to head back to their respective countries soon after until it was time for their wedding.
When I first got connected with Jessica while she was still in India + we clicked immediately. She is full of so much life, joy, and Jesus. We got to first meet in person when she returned to the states in April + she was even sweeter in person. She was someone who I was just as excited to spend time with her on her wedding day as I was to capture her + Jeremiah’s special day.
From the perspective behind the lens, everything was perfect. There were so many sweet moments between the bride, groom, and their bridal party members. Additionally, many moments between them and their parents that were a joy to capture.
One of my favorite moments of the day was just after Jessica put on her gown. For her wedding dress, she chose every mother’s dream as Jessica wore her mother’s wedding gown. We arranged for them to have a moment between just the two of them + it was truly wonderful. Her mother’s reaction to seeing her for the first time melted my heart, enjoy!
We all arranged for David + I to take them back out into the vineyard post-nuptials for a golden hour session. They got to enjoy the few moments after their ceremony spending time together in the beautiful scenery + lighting.
Are they not so cute + beautiful together??
This was also one of the most fun dance floors. I happily took advantage of the awesome DJ + lively crowd + had some dancing fun myself.
This wedding was truly a blast from the first email Jessica sent until now, well-after sending off their gallery. We wish the best for these two incredible humans + we are truly honored we got to get to know them + capture this day! We cannot wait for our next Koury Farms wedding.
